REVENUE TACTICS

There seems to be a trend towards a change in the way the Inland Revenue look into taxpayers affairs in that in some cases they are contacting clients direct "seeking to clarify a couple of small points" which should not require the assistance of their accountants. They are hoping of course that people will agree to what is being said without too much resistance just to get them of their backs.

If the Inland Revenue wish to look into your affairs then they are required to issue a formal enquiry notice and should not enquire by any other means, formal or otherwise.

If you receive any communication of any description from them please refer to us for help and advice.
